Used wooden pallets are often still good for continued use after your shipment has arrived or been delivered. Used wooden pallets can become an eyesore as well as a safety concern for your business, your employees and customers if not handled or stored properly. There’s no need to let used pallets pile up in your warehouse or shipping yard, Herwood Inc. will gladly pick up your used pallets upon delivery and return them into circulation. Give us a call today. 1-800-884-4907
Herwood Inc. will purchase your used pallets from you if they can be returned to circulation. That means you can save money on your overall shipping expenditures by off-setting the costs of purchasing new wooden pallets. It is also a great way for your business to implement environmentally sound practices.
Do-it-yourself (DIY) projects that make use of wooden pallets are hugely popular lately. We think it’s a great way to bring back to life our used wooden pallets once they are no longer in circulation. We’d like to point out a few safety concerns and tips regarding these projects.
• Heat Treated Pallets are Best for DIY Projects: Heat treated pallets are the safest type to re-use in your DIY projects because they do not contain any harmful pesticides. Using pallets that have been fumigated is hazardous to your health, and not recommended! Herwood Inc. pallets are heat treated only, which ensures their safety for international shipping requirements (ISPM 15) as well as for salvage projects.
• Choose Your Pallets Wisely: Do remember to choose your heat treated wooden pallets wisely. Keep in mind the business the used pallet has come from, what it was used to transport, and where and how it was manufactured. Some pallets will not be suitable for home projects (especially projects that will involve food or water) because of what they have been used for, or how they have been stored. Remember that pallets left outdoors can become moldy or carry bacteria, so do not use those for your projects. Return those pallets to be recycled into biomass!
